Performing yoga in a natural landscape can offer a sense of peace and calm unlike anywhere else. What could be better than doing yoga in a refreshingly natural environment? Chisapani Nagarkot Yoga Trek offers an incredible feeling, therefore, the mind can have a chance to relax, and a sense of well-being can be enjoyed, along with a beautiful trek in the Shivapuri National Park. Just outside of the capital city of Kathmandu, Nepal, and there are fantastic trails throughout the national park.

These trails fill with waterfalls, deep forests,  lovely villages such as Sundarijal to Mulkharka. Glorious sunrises and sunsets will mesmerize from viewpoints in Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Temple. These two vantage points will showcase the Everest Region of the broader Himalayan Mountains surrounding the Kathmandu Valley.

The journey starts in Kathmandu and heads towards the countryside from Sundarijal (1,325m). Various flora and fauna cannot saw long after leaving the city in the idyllic rural communities outside of Kathmandu. Along the way, we come across the Tamang community village of Mulkharka. We continue on to trek higher and gain a better vantage for viewing the mountains.

The beautiful greenery of the trail towards Chisapani (2,215m) is definitely one of the highlights. The trail ascends through rhododendron forest where the hike will stop to enjoy some restful and relaxing yoga. It is a restorative practice with plenty of post-yoga time to reflect on the practice before continuing on. Soon the trek reaches the hill station of Nagarkot (1,965m).

The Himalayan Mountains serve as the backdrop for this next yoga session. The incredible sunset and sunrise views while doing yoga will enhance the practice. These lovely mountain views lead towards the “Changu Narayan Temple”; the ancient pagoda style temple overlooking the Kathmandu valley. The temple is sculpted in stone and is one of the gems of Nepalese history. This trek reveals the history, culture, and ecological diversity so distinct.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival day and Evening Yoga (1,300m/4,264 ft).
After your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our representatives will come to greet you and transfer you to the hotel. There is an evening yoga session scheduled to rejuvenate after a long journey.
DAY 2 Morning Yoga, Kathmandu Valley sightseeing, Trek preparation and Evening Yoga.
This day will wake to begin early in the morning and perform yoga in a fresh and peaceful environment. After that, breakfast will be served and sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley will begin. There are many historical sites which are listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. We will visit Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Temple where the brotherhood between Hindus and Buddhist are particularly revealed. One of the other important UNESCO sights we will experience is Kathmandu Durbar Square which holds the ancient history of Nepal. The tour then returns back to the hotel for a light evening yoga session before dinner, and prepare for the next day’s trek.
DAY 3 Morning Yoga, Drive to Sundarijal, Hike to Chisapani and Evening Yoga (2,215m/7,103 ft).
We begin the day with an early morning yoga session and after breakfast, we will drive towards Sundarijal. Hiking starts on a gradual uphill trail and enters the national park. Walking ahead towards the trail we reach Mulkharka which is known for a viewpoint from where a panoramic view of Kathmandu can be seen. Continuing on, the trail reaches the beautiful Tamang village of Chisapani. We will enjoy a peaceful evening session in the natural scenery.
DAY 4 Morning Yoga, Hike to Nagarkot and Evening Yoga (1,965m/5,338 ft).
As with the previous morning, a yoga session to begin the day followed by a healthy and nutritious breakfast. Then the trek towards Nagarkot will begin on peaceful and attractive trails. Also, the views of the majestic Himalayan range can be seen in the background along the way. After a 4 to 5 hours walk, you will finally arrive in Nagarkot. Enjoy the magnificent sunset while performing yoga in the twilight in the soft evening air.
DAY 5 Morning Yoga, Hike to Changu Narayan, Drive to Kathmandu and Evening Yoga (1,600m/4,264 ft).
Sunrise from Nagarkot is nothing short of spectacular, and add to that a wonderful morning yoga session to start the day On a clear days, Mt. Everest (8,848m) can be seen along with mountains like Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Mt. Gaurishankar (7,134 m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m). Then after taking breakfast, we hike towards Telkot and visit Changu Narayan Temple. It is an ancient temple which is also listed as a World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Changu Narayan Temple has been preserving Nepal's ancient and religious history since its foundations have been laid. We then return to the hotel where there is plenty of time to rest and reflect. In the evening there will be a pre-dinner yoga session.
DAY 6 Departure day with Morning Yoga.
This is a final day in Nepal. One last pre-breakfast yoga session is available. After a healthy breakfast, we will help you to transfer to the airport 3 hours prior to your departure time. We will bid you farewell as you return home or on to your next destination.
