Annapurna Sanctuary Trek also known as Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a trek into the heart of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. This trek takes you through the hidden pockets of the lowland villages, terraced fields, and rice farms to the gorge of rhododendron forests and ends in the company of magnificent snowcapped peaks.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek starts your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport. After a short stay in the Kathmandu, the trip begins. During your stay in the valley, you will be observing various tourist attractions in the valley such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, monkey temple “Swayambhunath’’, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath.

The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara is filled with the fascinating views of the landscapes, rivers and local settlements. The trek begins from Nayapul. Furthermore, During this trek, you pass through the delightful local villages, rhododendron and oak forests and explore the diverse flora and fauna of the region. The sunrise view from Poonhill is one of the highlights of this trek as from the top; you get to see the wonderful sunrise as well as a 360-degree view of the breathtaking mountain peaks.

You pass through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and stay one night at the Annapurna Base Camp; from where you can enjoy the finest views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. Annapurna Sanctuary trek is a moderate trek which can be done in all seasons and also suitable for all trekkers.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,380m/4,528 ft).
The trip starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport. Then you will be transferred to the hotel by the company van.
DAY 2 Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation.
After breakfast, you meet your tour guide at the hotel premises. He will give you a brief introduction to the places you will visit today. The company van will take you around the Kathmandu valley and will stop at authentic Nepalese restaurants for lunch and dinner.
DAY 3 Drive to Pokhara (820m/2,690 ft), 6/7 hrs.
In the morning, you board the tourist bus to the beautiful city of Pokhara. It will be a bus ride through the curvy roads of the hilly terrain. You can enjoy the views of the terraced rice fields, lush green hills, roadside settlement, Trishuli and Marsayangdi rivers and most of Annapurna Himalayan Range. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4 Drive to Nayapul (1hr 30 mins) and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m/5,052 ft), 3/4 hrs.
From Pokhara, you take a private vehicle to reach Nayapul. The Annapurna Sanctuary trek begins from here. In about 15 min you reach Birethanti, which is a large village with many shops and teahouses. The trail goes along the northern bank of Bhurungdi Khola. After a short climb, you arrive at Hile. A short climb from here will take you to Tikhedhunga. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 5 Trek to Ghorepani (2,870m/9,416 ft), 5/6 hrs.
First, you make a steep climb to Ulleri village. Then you pass through the rhododendron and oak forests to arrive at Banthanti. You continue the trek and reach Nangethanti. An hour of trekking from here will take you to Ghorepani. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 6 Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m/1,0531 ft) and trek to Tadapani (2,620m/8,596 ft), 6/7 hrs.
It will be an early morning trek to Poon Hill as you want to reach there before sunrise. From Poon Hill you can enjoy the beautiful sunrise along with the magnificent views of the snow covered peaks such as Tukuche Peak (6,920m), Nilgiri (6,940m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7855m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Lamjung Himal (6,931m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and many others . You return back and have breakfast. Then you immediately leave for Tadapani. You walk along the trail which is almost in the middle of oak and rhododendron forests and make your way to Deurali. Walk downhill from Deurali and cross some streams along the way and you arrive at Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 7 Trek to Sinuwa (2,360m/7,743 ft), 5/6 hrs.
Ascend gently for about an hour to reach Ghandrukkot (2100m). Then descend to Kimrung Khola and cross the suspension bridge. Walk for around 2 and the half hours more until you reach Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and provides excellent views of Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993 m). Then you stroll downhill and make a final climb all the way to Sinuwa. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 8 Trek to Deurali (3,230m/1,0564 ft), 5/6 hrs.
The trail follows the valley of Modi Khola to Bamboo. During this trek, you pass through a dense forest where you can spot monkeys and deer. Then pass through the rhododendron and bamboo forests to reach Donovan. Uphill walk from here takes you to Deurali. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 9 Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,550 ft), 4/5 hrs.
You walk through the river bank area and move ahead through the uphill trail. Follow the trail and you reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Follow the icy trail to Annapurna Base Camp which is 2 hours away. From Annapurna Base Camp you can get a 360 view of the surrounding mountain peaks which includes Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Gangapurna (7,454m), Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Mount Hiunchuli (6,441m). Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.
DAY 10 ABC to Bamboo (2,300m/7,546 ft), 5/6 hrs.
You have breakfast at Annapurna Base Camp and then head back to Deurali. Walk through the bamboo forest enjoying the natural beauty and amazing landscape around you. After Deurali, you continue the trek to Dovan and finally arrive at Bamboo. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 11 To Jhinu Dada (1,770m/5,807 ft), 4/5 hrs.
Majority of the trail today passes through the lush green forest. The trail is flat for the major part of the day except for the final steep climb to Chhomrong. Follow the steep trail downhill from Chhomrong to Jhinu Danda. You can enjoy the hot springs here and rejuvenate yourself for the rest of the journey. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 12 To Pothana (1,890m/6,201 ft), 5/6 hrs.
First, you go down the hill and then the trail becomes flat until you reach Himal Pani. There are some beautiful waterfalls here. Then you cross numerous streams and farms and arrive at Landruk. After lunch in Landruk, follow the trail that leads steeply to Deurali and then passes through the oak forest to reach Pothana. Overnight at lodge.
DAY 13 To Phedi and drive to Pokhara.
Today is the last day of the trek. It will be an easy downhill walk from Pothana to Phedi. You arrive at Phedi in two hours. From here the road links to Pokhara. You can take a minibus which will take you to Pokhara for 30 min. overnight at hotel.
DAY 14 Drive to Kathmandu (6/7 hrs).
You take the bus and head back to Kathmandu. Along the Prithvi highway, you enjoy the beautiful green hills, exciting landscapes, Trishuli River and arrive at Kathmandu. Then you will be taken to the hotel.
DAY 15 Departure day.
The 15-day trip ends here. After breakfast at a hotel, our company representative will take you to the airport, 3 hours before the flight schedule. Then you take the flight back home / next destination.
