If there is one thing that is recalled over and over again about Nepal, it has to be the mountains and the Island peak climbing is one of the journeys you will not forget. In Sagarmatha (Everest) region of Nepal, the Island Peak climb is one that will take you through glaciers, breath-taking scenery, Himalayan villages of unique cultures and traditions.
The Imja Tse ascending begins in Lukla and will take you the lakes of Gokyo which are a number of lakes on the foothills of the Cho Oyu (8,201m) and through Everest base camp which is the front door to the highest mountain on Earth. As beautiful and grand the Everest region may be it is still in its pristine raw nature and much caution should be taken while trekking this region.
At 6,189m, the Island peak is a popular peak to climb in Nepal. This climb and trek has the advantage of having a high camp at 5,600m which reduces the summit day. From the peak we will able to enjoy fantastic views of Lhotse Shar (8,383m), Makalu (8,481m), Baruntse (7,129m) and Ama Dablam (6,812m). The island peak is a strenuous and rigorous trek which is recommended for fit people. During our climb we will also be making stops at different places to acclimatize to the altitude, acclimatization is a must for everyone so as to avoid major health risks. Island Peak climbing bound to get your adrenaline pumping and will give you a sense of great achievement once we reach the summit, making the journey worth everything.
