People believe Langtang Helambu Trek also known as Gosainkunda Helambu Trek, a perfect combination trek of three different areas of Nepal. It is located north of Kathmandu. Langtang Helambu Trek offers the trekkers to travel 3 different places- Langtang, Helambu, and Gosainkunda; at the same time giving the 3 different taste of different regions.
The 19-days Langtang Helambu Trek embraces a different culture, glimpse sight of wildlife along with the stunning view of nature from mountains to scenic foothills. This trek is perfect for those who don’t want to travel far but still want to experience the wilderness of Himalayas.
The trekking route takes through the beautiful Langtang valley which gives trekkers a chance to explore the Sherpa villages. The Langtang valley also provides a beautiful view of Langtang Lirung. The trek then continues to Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient Buddhist monastery surrounded by the beautiful mountains. The trek rewards trekkers with the extraordinary panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and various other mountain peaks.
What you can see during Langtang Helambu Trek
Another main highlight of trek includes the holy lake “Gosainkunda”. It is believed that Gosainkunda Lake has magical healing powers. So many Hindus and Buddhist from all around the country visit the lake mostly in the month of August during a full moon. People believe, taking bath in the holy lake remove all the sins. The trekking route also takes to the Helambu region which offers trekkers to take a close look at Hyolmo culture, their ancient trading style, and hardship lifestyle. From the Helambu region, we can get the most amazing and breathtaking sunrise and sunset view of lovely nature.

Itinerary
Our staff member picks you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to the hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight in Hotel.
We go to explore UNESCO world heritage of Kathmandu valley that includes Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Square. Later in the evening, we discuss the trek briefly. Overnight in Hotel.
Leaving the Kathmandu valley, we drive to Sybrubensi passing alongside the Trishuli River and enjoying the view of mountains, green hills, terraced fields, the flow of river and villages. Overnight at Lodge in Sybrubensi.
Today begins our first day of the trek. We trek towards Lama Hotel ascending through the steep trail. Following the flow of Langtang Khola, we enter the Bamboo village after passing the forested path full of oaks and rhododendrons. We then cross a bridge over Langtang Khola to finally arrive at Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lodge.
Leaving the Lama Hotel behind us, we trek towards east to Langtang village. Today the trail takes through the dense forest full of pine and oak trees. We also pass through Ghoda Tabela and Langtang National park before reaching Langtang village. Upon reaching the Langtang village, we get a glimpse of stunning Langtang Lirung. Overnight at Lodge.
We ascend through the steep ridges and walk past the Tamang village of Mundu. We also come across the ancient monasteries, Chortens, prayers flag, water mills and largest Mani wall on our way to Kyanjing Gompa. Overnight at Lodge.
We take a pleasant hike to Tserko Ri which gives the most amazing view of Langtang Ri (6370 m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Langtang Lirung (7245 m), Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and Langtang ranges. After spending some quality time we trek back to Kyanjin Gompa and visit ancient Buddhist monastery and local cheese factory. Overnight in Kyanjin.
We retrace our trail back to Lama Hotel relishing the stunning view of Langtang Lirung in the background. We pass through the beautiful Langtang village and Ghoda Tabela to reach Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lodge in Lama Hotel.
Today we follow the densely forested trail filled with rhododendron, oaks and pines trees where we may encounter wildlife like red pandas, Himalayan Black bear and various other species of birds. We continue to trek to reach the village of Thulo Syabru. Overnight at Hotel in Thulo Syabru.
We continue our trek to Sing Gompa passing through the Dursagang (2660m). Relishing the view of Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal in the background, we reach Foprang Danda (3200 m). We yet continue to trek for some time and finally arrive at Highland of Shin Gompa. Overnight at Lodge.
Today, our trail passes through the Lauribina (3920m) which gives the amazing 360-degree view of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and different mountain peaks. We also come across dozens of lakes before catching the glimpse of the first of the holy lake of Gosainkunda. The lake is believed to have magical healing powers. Overnight at Lodge.
Passing through the several small lakes, we head towards the Laurebina pass (4610 m) where the Helambu region begins. We then follow the rocky trail which leads us to the village where we get a glimpse of Hyolmo culture. We continue to descend through the steep trail to reach Ghopte for an overnight stay.
Leaving behind Ghopte, we trek down through a forested area and ascend through a dry stream to reach a Kharka. We continue to trek through the forested trail to arrive at the hare pati. We then start to ascend the edge of Thadepati pass which is openly above the village. Overnight at Thadepati pass.
Our trail starts to descend to lower altitude from Thadepati pass. We climb down through pine and rhododendron forest relishing the view of Helambu valley and Jugal Himal. We continue to descend to Melamchi River all the way to Hyolmo and Sherpa village of Melamchi Goan, Overnight at Lodge.
We continue to climb down until we cross the Melamchi stream. We then ascend to Tarke Gyang enjoying the beautiful view of mountains in the background. Tarke Gyang is a small village inhabited by Sherpa people with their old settlements and monasteries. Overnight at Lodge.
The trail today moves through the flat land making easy for us to walk. We pass through the several beautiful villages of Helambu region before reaching Sherpa village of Sermathang. We can visit the ancient monastery in the evening. Overnight at Lodge.
For our last day trek, we head towards Melamchi Bazaar walking through the meadows and cultivated fields. We also pass through some old villages before reaching Melamchi Bazaar. Overnight at Lodge.
Leaving behind the Helambu region, we drive back to the capital relishing the scenic view of mountains, foothills, and daily activities of local throughout the ride. We transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight in Hotel.
Drop off at Tribhuvan International Airport for final departure.
