A culturally and naturally diverse country, Nepal is home to 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites; seven of them being inside Kathmandu Valley and three of the different parts of the country. World Heritage Sites Tour is a journey to eight of the ten heritages; which hold rich history and signify the distinct culture of Nepal. World Heritage Sites Tour gives a quick glimpse of Hinduism and Buddhism in Kathmandu and Lumbini. Kathmandu Valley is a taste of historical architecture and culture.

The tour starts with the visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is one of the three durbars (Royal Palace) squares in Kathmandu Valley that showcase Nepalese art and architecture. The buildings and designs represent Malla kings who ruled over Nepal from  12th to 18th century. After that, you head to Swayambhunath is consider as a holy Buddhism site. Also known as the Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath lies on the top of a hill facing towards Kathmandu Valley.

You also visit Patan Durbar Square; Krishna Mandir is one of the most important parts of the square which is built-in 1637  then King Siddhinarsingh Malla. Then you drive to Nagarkot to witness the beautiful sunrise from the sunrise viewpoint on top of a hill, and after returning back to the valley you take a tour of Bhaktapur Durbar square. Golden Gate and The Palace of Fifty-five Windows are the central attractions inside the durbar. The tour then moves towards Changunarayan Temple which recognizes the most ancient temple it is the inscription of Mandev, the first emperor of Nepal.

The 3rd century has believed to built the temple. Then in the afternoon, you visit Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath temple. After the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage Sites Tour, you head off to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. It is the holiest palace for Buddhist pilgrims around the world. You visit some of the important sites of Lumbini before heading back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrival in Katmandu (1,310m). O/N at 3 Star Hotel - A, D.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by one of our representatives at the airport who will then transfer you to your hotel. You also meet your guide today. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 2 Visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Patan City. O/N at 3 Star Hotel - A, B & D.
After breakfast, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the early age, royals used to reside in this historical site but now it is the home of the living goddess Kumari. From here, you will visit Swayambhunath and enjoy the view of Kathmandu Valley from the top of the hill. In the afternoon, you will drive to Patan city, which is 15 minutes’ drive from Kathmandu and is the second largest town inside the valley, and visit Patan Durbar Square. You will get to see Krishna Mandir and Golden temple which are the most valuable parts of this durbar square.
DAY 3 Early Morning enjoy sunrise in Nagarkot, after Breakfast drive back to Kathmandu Valley and on the way visit Bhaktapur City & Changunarayan Temple and Visit Pashupatinath and Boudhanath in the evening. O/N at 3 Star hotel - A, B & D.
Today, you will wake up early in the morning and after having a light breakfast you will visit Nagarkot where you will enjoy a gorgeous luminous sunrise and drive back to Kathmandu Valley. While returning back, you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square where you will get to see the amazing arts and artifacts of the ancient times. You can also visit the Newari settlements of Bhaktapur city and taste their local delicacies. Then, you will visit Changunarayan Temple which is located on the hillside of Bhaktapur district. The details of the woodwork in Changunarayan is unique than that of any other temples in Kathmandu. PM: Visit Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath After having lunch, you will visit the holiest Hindu temple, Pashupatinath, which is located on the bank of the holy Bagmati River. Since non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple, you can observe the pilgrims and the cremation ceremonies on the riverbank while sitting on the other side of the temple. Then, you will head to Boudhanath, which is one of the largest stupas in world. You can circumambulate the shrine with other pilgrims if you wish.
DAY 4 Drive to Lumbini, 8/9 hrs, upon arrival, visit sacred Lumbini Garden, The Ashoka pillar, Maya Devi temple. O/N at 3 Star Hotel - A, B & D.
You will drive to Lumbini on a private tourist bus. The drive is 8 to 9 hours long. The driveway will present you with beautiful views of hills, rivers, and glimpses of small settlements of Nepalese people. Lumbini is in the western part of Nepal and is the birthplace of Lord Buddha (Light of Asia). After reaching there, you will visit Ashoka Pillar—established by the Maurya Emperor Ashoka as a mark of his visit to Lumbini—and Maya Devi temple—the place where Buddha is believed to have been born.
DAY 5 Explore Lumbini. O/N at 3 Star Hotel - A, B & D.
After breakfast, you will begin your drive to the important archeological site in Tilaurkot, 27km west of Lumbini. Tilaurkot is believed to be the ancient palace of King Suddodhan, father of Siddhartha Gautam. Gautama Buddha spent his formative years in Tilaurkot as a prince before he left the luxuries of the palace in search of inner peace. Then, you will visit nearby Kapilvastu Museum where you will find pottery, ornaments, and jewelry gathered in a house.
DAY 6 Early Morning fly back to Kathmandu PM: Free day. O/N at 3 Star Hotel - A, B & D.
Today after breakfast, you will drive to Bhairahawa Airport and fly back to Kathmandu. It is your free day, you can take rest and explore the surrounding areas. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7 Departure - B.
Today, you will be driven back to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch your flight back home.
